Culture Spears now includes a live band

The members of the premier local traditional group, Culture Spears, have again challenged themselves to grow as artists and offer more to their doting fans by altering their stage performances to include a live band.

The group leader, Kabelo Mogwe confirmed the new development, adding that  they added this development to their performances this year. Mogwe said, "we  decided to explore this route  because we want to grow as artists. Playing with a live band develops an artist's creativity, and it has added value to our music.  It allows us to improvise with our music which is more entertaining."  To Mogwe, playing music is  all about learning everyday and this is why he has decided to explore other avenues.

He said since they started playing with a live band, they have performed at a number of venues around the country including the Millennium Jazz Restaurant for the first time and in Bloemfontein, South Africa which is where they had their first show with a live band.  Although Culture Spears has always been a popular group Mogwe said they  also became a hit with revelers after performing with a band:
