Controversy marred a concert featuring Joyous Celebration last Friday when local gospel outfit, Hosanna, refused to go on stage because "contractual agreements had not been met".

Hosanna were to curtain raise for the South African gospel ensemble alongside Jam in Christ, but the group insisted on being paid upfront. However, the promoter of the show, Joseph Manuel of Brave Heart Promotions, who reportedly paid an amount in the region of P300,000 to Joyous, insisted on paying them after the performance.

Brave Heart Promotions was to pay the group P15,000 for performing at the concert. Hosanna founder, Nico Matlapeng, has confirmed that they did not perform because of contractual differences. "The promoter didn't fulfil his obligations in terms of the contract," Matlapeng told Showbiz.
