Batswana attend Bastille Day celebration in large numbers

It was a pleasant sight to see many Batswana in attendance at this year's Bastille Day celebrations held at Alliance Francaise on Friday.

The day which marks France's first revolution is celebrated on July 14th, but the French living in Botswana choose to celebrate it on Friday.  Showbiz chatted with some Batswana in attendance at the celebrations. Keneilwe Diphoko told Showbiz that she wanted to show her support for French people living in Botswana on a day that is very important to them.

"The French Embassy has contributed a lot towards helping Botswana and they support a lot of our initiatives so it was only fair and reasonable that I showed my support as a Motswana. The cherry on top is that the French always organise smashing festivals that I enjoy," the bubbling woman said. 28-year-old Lebogang Ngoma said she loves everything about French culture.
