Rhumba musician Franco, jazz queen Punah Gabasiane and Mbaqanga rising star Mc Maswe are to perform at a charity festival at Molepolole's Mo Africa Garden on Saturday aimed at raising funds for a destitute family.

The other musician billed to perform is Ponka. The self-styled king of rhumba has told Showbiz that he is delighted at the invitation by the Molepolole police officers to help them raise money for a worthy cause.  "I am a Christian and I believe that blessed is the hand that giveth.  I felt honoured when the committee from the Molepolole Poilce Station approached me to help them in this regard.  I cannot claim to be an angel.  But my heart often goes out to the poor, especially given a devastation caused by the rains in the dawn of a winter season fast approaching," he said.

"I have not met the old woman who is supposed to benefit from this concert, but the way they describe her situation is touching because she does not have a proper house to raise her orphaned grandchild in  single-handedly," he said.
