Aldo's comedy leaves 'em spellbound

Aldo Brincat has been at Maru-a-Pula School for five years as head of drama. He is well-known for the variety of student productions he has shepherded yearly for wider audiences, particularly as part of the Annual Maitisong Festival.

This year at the festival the student production was an innovative and insightful He Loves Me, She Loves Me Not confessional play in the Moving Space. Brincat also takes selected students to the South African Festival of the Arts in Grahamstown at the end of June and early July each year.

In 2007 Bokamoso Makole (BK) and Onkemetse Sebenyane (Onks) "performed Athol Fugard's highly acclaimed and internationally recognised Blood Knot, a play focusing on the themes of race, identity and justice". Brincat's one-man play Arnie was also presented that year at Grahamstown, a comedy embellished by a variety of masks.
