FRANCISTOWN: Despite what he calls sabotage and through hard work 23-year-old Kenneth Nthoiwa AKA Alcano has released his first album.

Like many young Batswana who are passionate about music, Alcano had to do everything possible to realise his dream. Alcano said that he had to go through tough times, but eventually managed to release his debut CD Poo Dipobe, a kwaito genre with a touch of traditional music (dikoma), end of last month.  He told Showbiz that he had the talent, but no money, which ended up "in people using me".

"I was kept in the studios by producers because I had no money to record. I would do work and give a hand in the studios with the promise that they would help me release my album, but that never happened," he laments. Alcano says that he has been singing since he was doing Form One.
