Afcon pushes My Star tv show to march 13

Popular reality music TV show, My Star is in the freezer for four weeks while Botswana Television (Btv) programming has been affected by the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Producer Master D on Friday explained that there would be no My Star TV show on Sundays until March 13, making the programme to run four weeks late.When the My Star show resumes on Btv though, it will be with great speed, running on  Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, to make up for lost ground.Master D said the abnormal programming for My Star show would continue until March 26, when it would revert to Sundays, 6pm.

Traditionally, My Star shows are recorded on Fridays and shown on Sundays, giving the viewer the most current content about the show.March 2 will see the show unveiling the top 35 contestants who will then have to be saved by the viewers.  But the top 35 show will not be televised until March 18. Before that Btv will be showing auditions from Selebi-Phikwe, Gaborone (two weeks) and other places that had not been screened due to the AFCON finals.
