AAJCs open doors for singer Fisher

Local musician, Bonny Fisher, has been invited to perform in Egypt and Nigeria later this year after his five-star performances before and after the recently ended Africa Athletics Junior Championships (AAJCs).

Botswana hosted the six-day event, which was beamed live to about 33 television and radio stations across the continent. Fisher put up a polished act during the official opening and closing ceremonies of the championships and his ingenuity has not gone unnoticed.

In an interview yesterday, he confirmed that he had received calls from Egypt and Nigeria a day after the closing ceremony. "I'm expecting more invitations from all over the continent after the performance at the championships on May 12 and 17.  The first ones have already come in; we got calls from Nigeria and Egypt on Monday.  We were doing something aligned to culture so the Egypt guys loved the traditional touch.
