The incident occurred at around 3am when a 60-year-old woman, her 32-year-old daughter, 18-year-old son, and four-year-old granddaughter were asleep. Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Moneedi Mhaladi, said police were investigating the robbery and that the suspects were still at large. “It is alleged that the three men broke into the family’s house, tied them up, took their mobile phones and instructed them to disclose their ATM PINs,” Mhaladi said when confirming the incident. “They then drove with the family to an ATM, where they withdrew P25,000 before driving back towards Metsimotlhabe with them.” He added the suspects allegedly stopped at a bus stop after passing Bokamoso Private Hospital, where they abandoned the family whilst they were still tied up before fleeing. According to Mhaladi, the suspects also stole three mobile phones, comprising two iPhones and a Samsung. “We have launched a probe to locate the suspects, who are still at large,” he said.
