Zenzo releases eight-track album

Freelance entertainment journalist Peter Madiya has released an album. The scribe who is known by the stage name Zenzo released an eight-track album. Zenzo is no stranger to the music industry in the country. Whilst a student at the University of Botswana (UB) he formed the now defunct Afro-Pop group called 3 One. They released an album, which failed to penetrate the market because of what Zenzo says was poor marketing.

He says that since he started working on the entertainment beat he now has a deeper understanding of the way the music industry works.

"When I started in music, I didn't know much about this industry. I used to hear Vee talking about his albums on radio and I thought the DJ loved his music, hence he always called him over, only to learn later that you actually have to buy radio airtime to get the interviews on radio. It is a good marketing tool that has contributed much to the development of our music industry," he said.
