Ventriloquist-cum-actor decries poverty

One of Botswana's few ventriloquists, Lucus Toteng is appealing to fellow Batswana to help him exploit his God-given talent so that he could support himself and his children.

Speaking to Mmegi during an interview, Toteng said that despite his unique and rare gift he is struggling to make ends meet.

"This gift tends to be a curse at times because when I am out there marketing for other jobs, people warn potential employers about it and I get dismissed because they think that I could use magic to steal things from them," he said.
