But 24-year-old West has what it takes to emerge as a big star. This young musician has lived in different places during his short life. Born in Kanye some 24 years ago, West moved to Orapa where he grew up. He later went to Namibia where he stayed with his uncle before returning home and relocating to Gaborone where he hopes to make it big as dance hall artiste.

Many would probably think he gave himself the name West as his career ambitions grew, but that is not the case. They call him that at home. In fact only a few people, including those who grew up with him, know his real name, Kagiso Orapeleng.
