Tizo, real name Thabo Bimbo, started his music career at a very early age in Tsabong in the Kgalagadi district. He was then a member of a local Sunday school choir.

He and a few friends later formed a group they called Tsotsi Jents. But the group soon disbanded due to financial constraints. Bimbo decided to move to Gaborone in search of a recording deal in January of 2006.

At the end of 2006, he was finally offered a recording deal, which he took up and started recording his album titled Lekgwatlha.
