The maestro who refuses to shine

Few can match Tumelo Mafoko's talent when it comes to playing the piano or keyboard. The man has a Midas touch and his golden fingers have produced nearly a third of Botswana's best hits.

His latest work was with borankana prodigy Deben Natale, who is currently making waves with his Sebodu ke nnenekwane. But if you think that was Mafoko's best project ever then you had better think again because comparing this maestro's work is no easy task.
It was not by accident that Vomit's Tsaya thobane album topped the charts just weeks after its release in 2007 and it is not even by default that it still continues to dominate at various social and corporate functions.

The album is just one of Mafoko's master-pieces, its rich instrumentation made the job easier for vocalists Kangangwane Magocha and Ditiro Leero.
