Take Ditiro Leero, who has the looks of a bull terrier, short but very strongly built and has the same approach to his music, like the bull terrier and put him on the same stage as Gong Master - one of the most eloquent musicians around with such a powerful voice reminiscent of a lion's roar - and you are bound to have one of the most memorable traditional music shows. The pair are so poetic both in music and speech that between breaks, fans are kept well alive by teasing Setswana poems. Next to Rural Industries Innovation Centre (RIIC) in Kanye lies the Mmakgodumo Motel, the place now becoming popular for hosting music festivals than its accommodation facilities.
The place is located between some hills along a valley making it a good entertainment location. The cool breeze from the nearby hills and valley gives patrons a real peace of mind. But Gong Master and Leero's music gave it a spark on Friday with some scintillating performances and so was Dj Sly and Dj T4ng. But only a few responded to Tau ya koma (Gong Master)'s roars let alone the barks of the stocky dog, as a handful turned for the show. Although the gig was advertised on radio, little was done in spreading the banners. Only a few of them were visible in Kanye and people did not probably turn up because they were not aware of the festival.
