It had is launch two months ago but has only just reached Gaborone. Do you like Abbas songs? Do you love Meryl Streep? How about Julie Walters and Christine Baranski? Well maybe you are drawn to Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgrd? Can you respond to a thumping Take a chance on me! If the answer to any of these questions is Yes, then the latest movie musical set to Abbas songs, Mamma Mia!, is one you do not want to miss.

The stage version, on which this is based (by the original London director Phyllida Lloyd, but her first movie), was eventually watched by 30 million people worldwide. It was all inspired by a movie set in Italy, Buona Sera Mrs Campbell (1968) starring Gina Lollobrigida. This version has 22 Abba songs from the 1970s.

In Mamma Mia! Donna Sheridan (Streep) has a daughter Sophie (acted by Amanda Seyfried) who has grown up on a Greek island and now at 20 has met her true love Sky (Dominic Cooper) and they are getting married. There is one catch to this, Donna has never told Sophie who her father is. Sophie, having lived all her life in romantic splendour, dreams of a white wedding in a church with her father, walking down the isle leaning on his arm.
