Students Showcase Immense Talent At Maitisong

Maitisong Hall in Maruapula, Gaborone, was converted into a place of fun last Wednesday evening as scores of guests were treated to a show aptly called Circus of Dreams. The show directed by Aldo Brincat, who also happens to be a talented actor in his own right and head of department (drama), successfully showcased diverse talents found at the school. One of the peculiar things about the show was viewers were allowed to come up with their own interpretation.

"You may pro-actively watch and enjoy it on a deep level by applying your own interpretation to the visual images that are presented, or you may simply read it lightly as a collection of variety acts strung together by a loose narrative," explained the director.

The show opened with an awe-inspiring singing by a choir whose lead singer, clad in a kimono, sang in an angelic voice from an elevated position. It was during this act that the 'phantoms' made up of Kabo Kula, Segolame Ramatu, Tshepo Masale and Tshwanelo Healy made their 'eerie' appearance. Not to be left behind, the acrobats, Dominique Taylor, Thabo Motshewa and Julia Meissner impressed with their agile moves as the show opened.
