Singing comedian has audience roaring with laughter

A singing comedian stole the show at Maun poetry and comedy festival last week, booking himself a place at the President's Day Music and Arts awards to be held in Gaborone next month.

Going by the name of Mmularula.com, the Maun comedian impressed the judges and revellers with his unique style, twisting lyrics of popular hits in comic fashion that left the audience in stitches. The second best performer from the Maun event was a comedian called Um Chakachaka.

According to one of the coordinators of the festival, the chairman of Comedy for the Nation of Botswana, Bafana Letsatsi, also known as Rib Cracker, the Maun comedy festival was rich with talent. It saw 12 participants compete, including veteran comedian Jacks Tshweneyagae, who  has previously shared the stage with celebrity comedian Dignash Morapedi, currently of Duma FM.
