Omphemetse Chimbombi, the leader and member of Angelic Voices Gospel Group has published her first book titled: Basic Tonic Solfa Concepts: Your Easy Guide for the Choral Training and Performance.

Chimbombi, who has a long history in music, has written the music book as an illustration guide to learning and teaching tonic solfa notation.
Published by AuthorHouse in the United States of America (US), the book begins with the authors own definition of music, noting that it is a production of organised sound by an individual (soloist), a group of people (e.g. duet, trio, quartet, ensemble etc) or an instrument(s) (e.g a guitar, trumpet, violin etc) either in unison or harmony through whatever rhythmic pattern, key, pulse, measure and tempo specified by the composer.
The book goes on to explain the various components of her definition of music. In the book Chimbombi also explains the basic components of a balanced and well-thought out choral rendition, including pitch rhythm, tempo, key and interpretation. Using simple methods and techniques, the book helps singers and conductors improve each aspect of performance. Chimbombi also provides numerous examples and exercises for singers to practise music reading and interpretation as well as develop a well-focused training programme.
Basic Tonic Solfa Concepts is an illustrative guide that tries to simplify and smoothen the learning path for tonic solfa notation users. It brings under one package the easiest methods and techniques of yielding the best choral performance, Chimbombi explained.
The book provides valuable insight to musicians at all levels and can apply to both solo and choral singing.
The book acts as a guide for both lay and professional music instructors, as well as choristers, by drawing upon the basic components of  best choral performance, she said.
The book is now available through the publisher AuthorHouse, a premier publishing house for emerging authors and new voices in literature. Individuals interested in accessing more information on the book and the author can visit her website at buka:www.omphchimbmusic.com
