Selelo's art exhibition, simply breathtaking

Kgae 2 Exhibition is currently on at the Thapong Visual Art Centre, showcasing art works by Monica Selelo, currently an art educator at the Botswana National Museum and Art Gallery. The exhibition is scheduled to run until January 31.

Selelo's artwork currently on display is quite breathtaking and unrestricted. She features both abstract and realistic artworks and, as she explained to Mmegi, her artwork moves from realistic to abstract because she likes to look deeper into everything she encounters in life. Her artwork, of course, reveals this about her in many ways.

 
Amongst the items on display is a piece titled "Why" produced in 2006. 'Why' is quite a unique piece of art work to view. It shows a human being hanging with a rope right around the neck, with a tighter knot of the rope hanging above the suspended body, whose face is in acute pain.
