Monitor Showtime and Mmegi Showbiz have written about a number of gospel groups and individuals who have released albums, some of whom continue to work tirelessly to give the public their best. With so much competition in the genre, there's yet another album out by Dobah Mogorosi Sejoe, who goes by the nickname Dobah and the Special Branch.
In an interview with Showtime, Sejoe said he grew up in the Zion Christian Church and got a lot of inspiration from the church, hence his type of singing is identifiable with the ZCC type. He said, as a member of the ZCC, he participated in a number of choirs within the church, which gave him enough experience to enable him to venture into music and releasing his very own album. The young man from Mochudi is not only a singer, he also composes his very own lyrics. He said while he does borrow from his church's songbook, he composes most of his songs from the Bible, and makes it relevant to what is happening in the world today. Sejoe also told Showtime that he planned to stay true to the gospel genre and not switch to any other. His debut album, titled Salang ka Kgotso, has 10 tracks.
The title track, as he related, bears a lot of meaning to him and to the members of his group, one of whom is a family. He said he composed the song while his father was ailing and having noticed that he was not going to get any better.
