Rapping The Street Anger

In the new song doing rounds in Old Naledi the location's underground rapper King Ninja Star (Ernest Nyirenda) chides everyone in the Hip Hop industry, from the most famous rappers and their hanger-ons to the promoters. He promises beat-downs to those who may think of retaliation.

Tsotsi tlola re go tshwara ka dit%$ri, ka dikhiri o ka re tsa phiri,  (thug retaliate and we hold you still, we are the big boys, like big hyenas) he says alongside the somewhat rough-edged but jewel of an instrumental.  He expresses anger at the mainstream industry for its constant self-important indulgence.

He is extremely gifted but like perhaps all people gifted the lyrical skill seems to get compromised by the faulty character. But perhaps the faulty character is part of the package, the "ying in the yang" as they like to say. There is no doubt that the talent is more pronounced because of the character faults.
