Botswana's own queen of contemporary jazz, Punah Gabasiane has dropped a hot album called 'Tshwaraganang'.

The versatile singer launched the album at Botswana Craft last Saturday. Although the attendance was poor despite Puna's status in the music world, the artiste did not disappoint and gave her fans value for their money. The show, which was dominated by a mature audience, kicked off with Boitumelo 'Nono' Siile who performed all songs from her latest album, Kgarebe including 'Koko le motho', 'Gomchochocho', 'Bampateletsa', and 'Sheleng'. Nono, who recently went solo, was backed by vocalists Nunu Ramogotsi and Trinity Mphoeng.

After Nono, Puna, the star of the night, garbed in a flowing white dress, like a true first lady of jazz, took to the stage. Among the songs that the diva sang is 'Iyowee' which the artiste says is a folk-song from Gammangwato. In the song, the singer laments, "Iyowee leleme la mosadi yo le nkitsa go tsewa' roughly translated. "This woman's gossip is disrupting my marriage plans".
