Power outages ruin nightlife

The recent power cuts particularly in Gaborone have impacted negatively on nightlife as clubs and other entertainment centres across the city are plunged into total darkness.

As a result revellers in areas like Gaborone West Mall have become accustomed to drinking under candlelight.

At one time at the Grand West nightclub, revellers, who had converged on the place to watch the just-ended Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) games in Ghana, had to be refunded their money after power went off.  The club was charging football fans for watching games on a giant screen.
