Poor sound system disrupted the rhythm of the weekly Pop Idols Botswana on Friday. The show that is recorded on Fridays at the Big Five Lodge around 8pm, was characterised by hiccups of unparalleled proportions and did not take off until 9: 45pm.

By that time both the audience and the singers' patience had worn out. Even when the show eventually kicked off poor sound from the microphone could still be heard, in forcing the cameramen to stop the recording while the embarrassment was being sorted out.

Keabetswe Master D Sesinyi owned up and accepted that even the past week's recording was marred by poor sound system that distorted the vocal quality of some aspiring pop stars like Thandie, Kagiso and Melita. The viewing public was simply denied the best the singers could offer as the microphones produced some poor sound leading to the three artistes getting the least votes and facing elimination.
