Orange Botswerere 2009 awards postponed

Local artists who were hoping to try their luck in the biennial Orange Botswere Awards will be disappointed to hear that the prestigious awards will not be held this year.

"The decision between the Department of Culture and Youth and Orange Botswana not to hold the Botswerere Awards was a mutual one as both parties had some constraints with regards to the implementation of the awards programme.

In future we will access the awards and better prepare ourselves for the next occasion to hold them. Both parties amicably came to this conclusion so we will have time to meet again and follow through with all our future plans," said Karabo Tlhabiwe of Orange Botswana.
