Night of the swords at Pop Star Botswana

There are no better words to describe the atmosphere at last Friday's recording of the Top 6 stage of Pop Star Botswana. It was the night of the swords as all three judges directed their venom at the singers in the harshest style never seen since the Btv and Mascom sponsored show took off four months ago. You could tell from the body language of the bombarded singers that they were left shell-shocked.

Tshepo thinks of quitting pop star show She walked out of the stage sluggishly with frustration written all over her face after being staggered by criticism from the three judges for the second week running. You could not believe it. Here is  a girl who until two weeks ago was  always  hailed as the brightest star in this show.  Tshepo did not put up a bad show.
She presented one of the most intelligently written songs, with fine rhyming scheme, a clear bridge, and a fine chorus to the crowd's delight, but Master D, also the show organizer, said Tshepo sang with the same tone, had no chorus, and failed to control her voice.
He took it to the extreme when he said about Tshepo's performance in the first song: " You murdered the song. I get so bored when I hear one note over and over. I really do not know what you were trying to do really. You lost control. I mean it's like you have been eliminated already, I'm telling you," pontificated Master D. The female judge, Ruth Moore also added her stick, saying the singer should learn to control her voice.
Another judge, DJ Sid, also added: "Your voice control is way out, but you deserve to be in the final.
After her performance a troubled Tshepo wanted to hear what other fellow pop stars felt about her performance, and Gorata said it was cool. She did not notice anything strange. Then she sat on her chair looking depressed. When she opened her mouth, Tshepo, said, "I want to quit, I feel like quitting, this was too much".

Judge Sid demands Thandie's resignation from the show
If pop star Thandie thought that she got the worst criticism ever from the judges the previous week, she was wrong,  as the really worst of the worst performance reviews came on Friday. Guess from whom? From the very same judge, Sidney Baitsile who the previous week told her she should feel lucky she made it to the Top 6. Sid came back with more fire at Thandie. It started like a compliment. "I like you...(then the audience cackled with laughter and some said, "Say I love you. She is sexy!) When you thought there was a compliment to make up for the previous week's massacre, Sid's onslaught continued,     'Let the truth be said. If I were you, I would volunteer to leave. You had nice moments that I liked in this competition. I hope the public would see that and make sure you are not in the Top 5 (well,  she is already in the top 5!)
