Local music is finally getting the recognition it deserves from the government. This year musicians will be among the people who will receive the coveted Presidential Awards during next month's Independence anniversary celebrations.

The Palapye based Swabi is renowned for his song Bagammagwato.  This song used to be among hits on the Radio Botswana's popular Sunday programme Dipina le maboko.  In 2000 another local artiste, Taolo Moshaga assisted Swabi to release an album. Moshaga has always believed that Swabi has exceptional talent.
