Museum hosts Chinese silk embroidery and photo exhibition

As part of their 60th anniversary of independence, the Chinese have brought a unique exhibition to the National Museum's Main Gallery namely Chinese Silk Embroidery and Photography Exhibition 09.

According to Zhang Ruodan of the China International Exhibition Agency, the show, which opened last week, is part of his country's endeavour to promote bilateral relationships between Beijing and Gaborone.

"We have decided to host this exhibition to promote cultural exchange activities between the peoples of Botswana and China and we hope that Batswana artists will learn much from it," said Zhang in an interview with Mmegi's Arts & Culture adding that Botswana has also sent artists to his country in the past.
