A young Motswana rap artiste, Ayesha Bontle Quraishi, has made a name for herself in the Scandinavian country of Sweden.

The formidable 26-year-old Quraishi has managed to overcome all challenges she faced as a foreigner to become a celebrity in a land thousands of kilometres away from her birthplace.

The multi-talented artiste is also a notable businesswoman in the country and she has a string of awards to support that. The million-dollar question is: How did the young Motswana woman land a lucrative career in Sweden? Her Swedish connections started when her Indian father, Gulam Quraishi, went to the Nordic country to meet a pen pal he had when he was only 10-years old. It was while working for SIDA, the Swedish funding agency that he met his first wife who also happened to be a Swede. The marriage ended after 20 years and the engineer, Interestingly relocated to Botswana to work as a director in the Department of Water Affairs between 1980 and 1987.
