Glittering Miss Botswana pageant

For the first, a Miss Botswana Queen won her self a rare top prize of a P300 000 brand new Mercedes Benz car, and a P50 000 worth of bursaries. American hip-hop mogul sponsored the queen and her princesses with bracelets. On the crowning night a special helicopter was hired to fly the queen around the city, although  violent storms on the night proved to be the stumbling block.  During the prize giving ceremony the organisers of the Miss Botswana pageant, Thapelo Pabalinga and Bissau Gaobakwe of Leapfrog Advertising and 63 Entertainment respectively quickly unveiled  a  mouthwatering grand prize for  the  Miss Botswana 2010 pageant - a  drop top SLK  350 Mercedes Benz car, already branded Miss Botswana 2010.

Kitso wins "My star 2009"
In its third year now, Master D owned, Btv music talent show, My Star, formerly Pop Star Botswana, probably produced its first real star this year in Kitso Selato.  The young lad has been overwhelmingly endorsed by Btv viewers as a gem in the making and he never let his fans down with his performance in front of television. After being crowned the champion in front of president Ian Khama at a glittering grand finale at the Boipuso Hall, the youngster went on to release an album. In fact this year's show saw two more exciting talents in Naledi and Dineo impressing in a big way all the way to the grand finale, prompting the producers of the show to release two albums at the same time, one being for Kitso, and the other being for the two women runners-up. The producers of the show have since taken a bold step to take the three singers on a nation wide tour as part of promoting their albums. Meantime last year's winner Tebogo Tlhagadikgora also made a mark on the local scene with his smooth pop album, as he went on to win a BOMU award, to become the first product of the Master D talent show to bag a national honour. The presence of President Khama at this year's grand finale also worked wonders for Master D who would from now on start receiving payments from Btv.  He had appealed to Khama during the grand finale to help his television production with funds, complaining that Btv is not paying them a cent for the airing of the  show.
