Maxy's 'mystery' producer a Zim maestro?

Olebile Maxy Sedumedi's decision to keep her producer's name secret appears to have infuriated local artistes who feel that the cultural music icon showed disrespect to the person who helped take her back to the top of the charts.

Angry musicians have decided to let the cat out of the bag and told Showtime there was "no special reason" why the producer's name should have remained mysterious.
Two musicians interviewed by Showbiz, but who preferred anonymity, said what they wanted to get across was the producer's name, as they felt the poor man deserved recognition.

They revealed that the 'person who recorded, engineered, and produced Maxy's album is Zimbabwe-based Joe Maseko. Maseko was popularised by cultural music gurus, Culture Spears, when they first hit the scene with their Mmadikokwana album, and later Kulenyane. Maseko has since enjoyed good business from Botswana musicians, including the gospel quartet, Unified, who recently held a listening session for their upcoming album. It was at the session that one of the respected gospel musicians (name withheld) told this writer that Maseko "is the man who produced Maxy's album".
