Mathe going strong despite stolen 'vocals'

Ten years since his vocals hit the shelves through Solly Moholo's face, youthful looking gospel star Sinky Mathe of Pretoria says he has managed to stake his claim in the music industry.

It was not until the then rising star ran to the media with the news that he is actually the one who sang as the lead vocalist in Solly Moholo's 1999 hit, Ke Latlhile Boghinsa that there was a change in his fortunes.  He says back then he was a hapless husler, who was simply happy to be in the studio and sing because he had no financial muscle to break into the recording business.

The Solly Moholo project, with hits like Kgosi Mathibe,  Die Pope Sal Dance', and the title track, was a roaring success but the hidden vocalist had nothing to show for it then, until he decided to try something else on his own.
