Just when critics were busy writing his musical epitaph, dance sensation, Mapetla, real name Thabo Ntirang, is back with all guns blazing.

A period of quietness, which followed the not-so- impressive 2007 release, S'buyile, appears to be over for the star catapulted to stardom by his two first albums, S'khoko, and Phanz' Phezulu. The star has been lately re-appearing in half-page and full-page-full colour adverts for cellular giant Mascom, as the face of the company's newly launched airtime selling points.

And Mapetla tells Showbiz that he has signed on the dotted lines as Mascom's brand ambassador; the contract, which was concluded last month. According to the S'khokho star the Mascom contract will run for six months with the possibility of renewal. " It is a very rewarding contract for me personally.  Mascom has also acquired some unreleased material from me, which they will be using in their promotions. I take it as an honour when a big company like Mascom decides to buy unreleased songs, I think it goes a long way in showing how reputable my music is, even the songs that many people out there do not know about," commented he who nevertheless was not at liberty to disclose the details of the Mascom contract.
