Makhwenkwe who is still beating the drums, has been playing music for more than 40 years.
"I started playing music in 1965 when I was doing Standard II at Tshekedi Primary School in Serowe," he reflects. His face brightens up as he recalls that his late mother was a good singer. He also played her records that she kept in the house. His mother was always singing and this inspired the younger Makhwenkwe to go into music.
