Makeba 'faithful' keep the fire burning

The late South African songbird Miriam Makeba should rest assured that her music has spread across the continent.

Makeba, a South Africa singer who was well-known through the continent, died last month.

But young female artists in Botswana  like Punah Gabasiane and Nono Siile are keeping the home fires burning. Both Gabasiane and Siile have confessed that they were inspired by the legendary Makeba.  These young musicians  are emulating  exactly what  the likes of Makeba and Dorothy Masuku  used to do in the 50s, by taking Afro jazz to another stage.
