Maitisong hosted its last event of the season last Saturday, namely the President's Concert, which was graced by President Ian Khama himself. The President's Concert is an annual event that honours a sitting president and it was Khama's first since he came to power in April this year.

The show was well attended and one of the things worth mentioning is the fact that organisers and performing artists observed time.
Act One kicked off with the singing of the Botswana National Anthem by the Sedibeng Choral Society and the Gaborone Music Society. Then the former performed the shortened version of The Pirates of Penzance, which recently premiered at Maitisong.
Well-known classic music singer, Boitumelo Pilane followed with You Know The Answer before collaborating with Oteng Zachariah and delivering a beautiful piece, Make Our Hands One Hand.

The talented duo were followed by the Gaborone Music Society who offered a couple of pieces before the locally celebrated poet, Tjawanga 'TJ Dema' took over.
Maruapula Marimba and 'the kids' came after the wordsmith.
Samantha Thomas and Andrew Kola performed a fusion dance followed by The Three Tenors - Boyce Batlang, Setso Kgabung and Tshepiso Gaborone - who delivered a powerful rendition of You Raise Me Up.
