Let's emulate China, artist urges

One of Botswana's top sculptors, Isaac Chibua, has returned from China where he recently attended the second China Changchun International Sculpture in the city of Changchun. The city, dubbed "the capital of sculptures" as it is believed to be the place with the highest number of sculptures in the world, hosted the conference, which attracted over 800 delegates, including mayors, scholars and sculptors.

Chibua says that during the conference, he was able to interact with sculptors from all over the globe and he learnt much about urban sculpturing and public art in general from some of the leading sculptors. The artist says that the conference has changed his perspective and he believes that art needs to be taken to public places in the country.
