The Industrial Court in Gaborone will this Thursday, make a ruling as to whether the case in which kwasa star, Jeff Matheatau and his former key man in the band, Kapenda Katuta, should be heard urgently. Katuta's lawyers made the application for urgent hearing last Friday but the decision of that case will be announced on Thursday.

Records in the Gaborone Industrial Court show that Matheatau and the multi-talented rapper and instrumentalist  from DRC are embroiled in a legal tug of war over arrears dating back to 2003.

Katuta is demanding P42,000 in arrears but Matheatau says he  does not owe him a thebe. Matheatau recruited Katuta from the DRC back in 2002 and the contract, according to Katuta's lawyer, Tony Matilo of Mac Bahuma attorneys, ended in September 2006. Katuta claims that since January 2003, Matheatau has been paying him in installments that accumulated to P42,000.
