Kwaito dance outfits reigned supreme at the My African Dream grand finale held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) as Amanandos, Ghetto Stars and Scandals snatched the top positions in the teen, junior and senior categories.

The Friday show kicked off with a captivating performance by the ballroom dancing duo of Mothusi and Tshepiso.  But the mother-of-all battles was no doubt between   Kagiso Nthoka, ATI, Unified, Blast, Scandals (senior category), Bianca Gabasiane, Amanandos, Chiko Boys, Kronicles, Torroski (teen category) Lorraine Jubane, Kago Goveya, Ghetto Stars, Baphuting Nthobatsang and Pyscho Girls (junior category).

Top honours in the teens' section clearly belonged to Amanandos, whose dancing routines were simply breathtaking. It must be said that although the boys are gifted dancers, their display during the grand finale was disappointing, to say the least. One can safely assume that the mbacanga song that they chose for the night could have affected their performance. The dancing Francistown duo of Ghetto Stars also deserved their win. The girls are capable dancers who clearly outclassed their peers in the juniors' category. Another finalist in the category, young Kago Goveya has a captivating and unforgettable voice that is too mature for his age. It is also amazing how the young boy could remember the lines of his long ballads.
