It's 'Fete de la Musique' 2009

The Alliance Francaise in Gaborone is yet again staging their traditional annual event, "La Fte de la Musique 2009" ("International Music Day) on June 20.

The event will be celebrated in Gaborone this Saturday (June 20) with main attractions, such as Maxy, Hellen, Dikakapa, Kabo Leburu, Mogwana, My African Dream, Apollo Diablo, SMS Blues Band, Skinflint, Crackdust, Zing-Zong, Mogote group and many more performing throughout the day and night. Performances  at the  Botswana Craft (Western by-pass) start  from 3.00pm 'til late', according to the organisers.La Fte de la Musique is a worldwide annual event, which has been celebrated in France since 1982. On that day, both amateur and professional musicians invade the streets, courtyards, and gardens and let the music out.

This French music celebration has become very popular especially because musicians from any background are allowed to play in various designated places for the whole day.
