Hip-Hop Stars Back Charity

In a rare occurrence, a number of local hip-hop stars on Saturday lined up at Maru-A-Pula grounds to entertain hundreds of youngsters at a fund-raising event for a charitable organisation.

They entertained free of charge to raise funds for a local non-governmental organisation (NGO, Women Shelter.  The rappers included K-Bos, Zeus, Magosi, and Mosako. Speaking to Showtime just before going on stage, Zeus said he was there to hype the show and to demonstrate to the youngsters that he cares about them.

" I came here with DJ Kenzo to hype the show for him. As he plays the discs, I will be emceeing with the microphone. It is an old school thing that I'm starting to do right now," the rapper said. K-Bos, who recently released his much- acclaimed debut album, Bosman, said he was excited to be returning to his former school. Although he was also not paid to perform at the event, K-Bos said any appearance is a marketing platform at this stage of his career. " I'm excited. I used to go to Maru-A-Pula. It is like going back to my roots.
