Hiccups, but hologram helps anti-piracy campaign

The acting registrar of companies and intellectual property in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Wilson Moatshe, says the introduction of the hologram is an ideal anti-piracy tool, which many progressive countries have adopted.

The copyright office started imposing the hologram on local musicians in August last year though influential musicians, producers and music distributors here complain that the innovation is counter productive.

Already 82,304 holograms have been sold at P24,691.20, as of December 31st, 2008.
