Give art support it deserves - SA envoy

South African High commissioner Eunice Komane has challenged the Botswana government to start giving art the support it deserves because it has potential to sell Botswana to the outside world.

She said Botswana was not known and it was time ministers and other high-ranking officials used art to market the country.

In her observation, there is much talent in Botswana that needs financial and political support.  The High Commissioner was speaking at the official opening of the collaborative tapestry exhibition between Botswana and South African women. Komane noted that for a long time, art has been put at the back of the fire, but it was time it was recognised.
