Gabasiane shines as 'Best Musician'

Punah Gabasiane got another chance to defend the award she won last year when the judges decided she was the best musician in the 'live' category during the Botswana Musicians Union Presidential Music awards.

The queen of jazz beat the likes of Lister Boleseng, DT, Banjo Mosele, Fraco, Fresh Lesokwane and Nono to win the preliminary round held at the Zebras Club in Mogoditshane.

The maverick vocalist was joined by Lesh Dee who scooped the newcomer category while Gong Master's Mosasankegi helped him book a place in the finals to be held later in July.
