Freshly Ground to perform at GICC

Renowned South African Afro-fusion band, Freshly Ground, who gave a sterling performance at Maitisong and Botswanacraft in May last year, will be performing at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on February 8-9.

The shows are scheduled to begin at 8pm, on both days and tickets are already on sale at the Grand Palm. Freshly Ground has over the years proven to be a popular band, not only in South Africa, but across the globe as well. After their hugely successful album, Nomvula, the group has released another thrilling album titled Macheri, which hit the shops around September last year. Their latest album has a number of hot tunes, including the title track Macheri, and Pot Belly. The group comprises Zolani Mahola, the lead vocalist with a golden voice, Kyla Rose Smith (violin) and back-up vocalist.

Other members are: Simon Attwell, who plays the flute, mbira and harmonica, Julio Siguaque (acoustic guitar), Peter Cohen (drums), Josh Hawks (bass guitar), and Aaron Turest-Swartz (keyboard, percussion and vocals). The shows will also feature a number of local artists.
