Domboshaba vestival celebrating Bakalanga culture

DOMBOSHABA: When people were just trying to relax after the exhausting Independence holidays, most of the Bakalanga and the people the North East District were bracing for the annual Domboshaba Festival, which is held in the first weekend after Independence holidays.

Despite the overcast conditions and threatening rain,  people invaded the venue in unprecedented numbers.

The festival was initiated by Mukani Action Campaign in 2000, which, was later  joined by Society for the  Promotion of Ikalanga Language (SPIL).
