He goes by the name of DJ Oats and is known around Francistown as one of the most sought-after DJs for parties, weddings and other gatherings in the country's second city.

DJ Oats, whose real name is Oteng Moshotle, does not want to put all his eggs in one basket. The 20-year - old from Matsiloje, says he is not only looking at being a successful DJ, but also at being an accomplished producer. He actually describes himself as a "part-time DJ and a full-time producer". The young man has produced his debut house album due for release in mid-November. Moshotle explains  that he has been on the music scene since 2002. He says from the tender age of 15 his love for house music has kept on growing. As a DJ he usually comes up with his own house tracks and plays them at parties and the crowds always enjoy his music. DJ Oats told Showbiz that one of the people who heard his songs at one of the parties where he was playing, introduced him to Elliot Matenge and Thuo Motswaledi, the duo who run Morwa's Fire Works Studio.

The young man then approached them with his project. DJ Oats explains that he however did most of the work on his songs, and only got help from Matenge as co-producer on some of the tracks. The 13-track album, titled The Rebirth Vol 1, was recorded at Fire Works Studio, which uses the record label Altitude Sounds. The duo work with South African DJ Mbuso who, through his Phezulu Records, is partly sponsoring the project and publishing DJ Oats' album.
