Ditshwanelo Film Festival on at Maruapula School

The Ditshwanelo Annual Human Rights Film Festival premiered at Maruapula School on Thursday after the launch by Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Minister Phandu Skelemani. The film festival will run until April 2 and every evening there will be a film showing.

After the film, there was also a discussion on asylum seekers, which was led by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) officials. Tomorrow's (Wednesday) documentary will be looking at the Palestinian situation. 

Another documentary Occupation 101 that will be shown the same evening, looks at the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  It presents a comprehensive analysis of the facts and hidden truths surrounding the never-ending controversy and dispels many of its long perceived myths and misconceptions.
