Dismal attendance at president's awards

The Presidential Music Awards for the Gaborone region preliminary round held at Gaborone Senior Secondary School last weekend failed to live up to its billing, despite the rise in the number of musicians competing this year.

Each category contained well over 50 contestants but there was no audience other than the musicians themselves, a few producers and their friends.

While it was reported that there were "lots of fans" in Maun and Francistown to cheer on the contestants, Gaborone was a disappointment.
